The World Of Muriel Brandolini
Interiors
If we would describe Axel Vervoort’s work as minimalism, than Ms. Brandolini is probably the queen of maximalism. Her background, which is a mixture of Vietnam, Venezuela, Martinique and France, is reflected in her unusual, extravagant style - and personality. Don’t be fooled by the book cover though, because to us it does not properly represent the book, nor Ms. Brandolini. The cover is kind of classic and formal, whereas the book itself is much more about fun, inspiration and crazy but tasteful combinations of colours, shapes, textures, styles, genres and spaces. Ms. Brandolini easily combines the worst of the ‘70 with the best of the 18th century. She’s outrageous in a good way. And what we love about her: she knows how to use books in order to make a room vivid and personal.
