The Modernist

Once again, Gestalten demonstrates they are very aware of what is going on in graphic design. I recently noticed a new visual language, which is contemporary but built upon the best elements from the past. Think type and collages from the 1950s, geometric patterns from the 1960s and 1970s and vector graphics and computer aided montages from the 1990s. The limited palette of colors, tools and geometric forms make the work seem both contemporary and timeless. Before I actually got to understand that this was a certain movement Gestalten had already documented it in The Modernist. Instant happiness!
