Yep, they are Dutch. You can tell, because they are good at the Dutch tradition of being unconventional and making statements - also used by Studio Job and Marcel Wanders. You may wonder how unconventional that is, considering that it almost has become a tradition. Don’t get us wrong, we love the work from Viktor & Rolf, and we’re proud that they are Dutch. You probably know them from the upside-down store in Milan, the puppets they used as mannequins, the models with black helmets, or the grenade-shaped perfume bottle for a fragrance they named Flowerbomb (the campaign was beautifully photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin by the way). Apart from being witty, they are extremely good craft men. For this reason The House Of Viktor & Rolf is a MENDO Classic. We eagerly await a next book!
