The Golden Age Of Formula 1
Back in 2009 British publisher Kraken Opus announced the publication of a limited edition book on Formula 1 that going about to be printed in two editions: a regular version (what?) for € 4,000.00 and an exclusive one for € 30,000.00, which was signed by the eighteen Formula 1 world champions. Our clients loved this concept, and pre-orders and deposits were done for both editions. And then... nothing. No book, disappointed clients and a struggle to get the deposits back. Ouch. On the Kraken website you can still pre-order the book and it says: ‘Blink and you’ll miss it’. All we can say, don’t take that to seriously.
Luckily there are publishers like teNeues, who do deliver what they promise. Together with Rainer W. Schlegelmilch they are working on a great series of books about Formula 1. This one is about the sixties and you can tell the sport has come a long way. Whereas F1 today is almost as dangerous as table tennis, here we see pictures of heroic men with hardly any protection risking their lives in what best can be described as highly inflammable rocket-driven cigars.
Be sure to check Formula One the roaring 70s.
