The Book Of Job
Studio Job
We could easily spend a thousand words on the brilliant execution of this book. The strong references with a biblical book, the two-in-one design with Studio Job on one side, and then on the flip side, the biblical The Book of Job, the golden edges, the slipcase, the certificate signed by founders Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel. This leaves us hardly any room to describe the Dutch (but Antwerp-based) designers collective Studio Job. In a nutshell: Studio Job is known for crossing boundaries between design and autonomous art. Their artistic design always serves a functional purpose. A great example is the Biscuit collection. The ceramic plates were embossed with skulls, weapons and Red Cross trucks and were exhibited in museums. But at the same time the plates were purchased by consumers and for that reason Studio Job made sure they were dishwasher-friendly.
