Stunning! Interiors, bars, restaurants, offices and lodges from Amsterdam to New Amsterdam. Spaces with walls full of old photos, worn out wooden tables, 1950s white tiles, vintage medications, railroad spikes, handpainted walls with authentic textures, 1930s barber stools, but never in an artificial or conceptual way. In fact, both the interiors and the design of the book are done so well, that at some point you believe the book smells a bit dusty. The size of the book definitely is part of the pleasure. The book is slightly higher than your average book and that, for some reason, adds to the pleasure of sheer authentic creativity. One piece of critizism though - the title. As a caption it would be okay, because it describes what it is, but as the title it’s... what it is.
