The World In Pictures by the Photographers of VII
This ain’t no fun book. Phaidon calls it “a moving and compelling record of conflict - environmental, social and political, both violent and non-violent - through photo-stories from around the world”. But we couldn’t help smiling as we were leafing from Somalia, via Iraq Survivors to Cartier International Polo Day. Prince Charles in a khaki chino. What a tragedy! It doesn’t do justice to the book, emphasizing on this single story out of 50. It’s an impressive book from VII photography agency, that is beautiful and confrontational at the same time.
