Anna Wintour opens the book with a foreword, that says it all. We quote: “Fashion photography might appear to be the very definition of ephemeral, created for the sole purpose of capturing the trends of a fleeting season - but it’s extraordinary how evocative a great image can be. There are so many more layers than the eye sees, some of which reveal themselves only in retrospect.
