King of Vintage

We wrote about Rin Tanaka before on our website. In a nutshell Tanaka (1970), born in Japan, currently living in California, is a vintage collector who publishes his treasures in a series of books named MyFreedamn. A guy called Larry McKaughan who has dedicated his life treasure hunting for vintage clothing, has made Rin Tanaka’s life a lot easier. Larry started sending boxes full of rare vintage clothing to Rin with a note saying: “Get your camera out to take photos before all this stuff is sold.” In this volume, 218 rare items, mostly manufactured at the turn of the 20th century. If we have to believe the connoisseurs, the manufacturers before the modern mass-production era had a better sense of beauty than we have today.
