Juxtapoz
Handmade
There are two kind of people: those who revolt against the use of computers in art and photography, and those who are just fine this evolution. Oh, and there’s the group “what?”, but we’ll ignore those in this matter. We are the kind of people that are totally fine with the development, for the simple reason that it is a tool from our days. We say: Photoshop ‘till you drop. This doesn’t mean we don’t like crafts. On the contrary, we suckers for drawings, sketches and handmade stuff. Juxtapoz Handmade is all about that. Check the paper cut sculptures by Peter Callesen and you will actually experience an intensity of labour, that is rare these days. Juxtapoz Handmade is a publication from Gingko Press in collaboration with Juxtapoz Magazine (prounounced: Jucks-tah-pose). In 1994 the magazine was created by a group of artists and collectors to define and celebrate urban alternative and underground contemporary art, supporting young artists like Kaws. Juxtapoz actually presents art in a not-boring way. We applaud this.
Juxtapoz is definitely worth following. And for fun: also check the Animated Gif’s on the website.
