Impressive

As often, Gestalten serves as a bridge builder between trend and tradition. This publication deals whit the process of today’s creatives rediscovering the richness of traditional printing methods and crafts, such as letterpress printing, hand-cut lino-type and embossing. The book clearly shows that solid type and design is a nice first step, but that creativity in the execution is the icing on the cake. Gestalten had to reduce the stationary, invitations, posters and many other printed matters back to flat images for the book. Nevertheless the book clearly shows what the designers had in mind, combining their contemporary designs with old-fashioned techniques. Altogether: solid book!
