Dogs in Vogue
A Century of Canine Chic
This is definitely a book for our favorite category: Not Meant To Be Funny. There must have been a point where someone at Vogue headquarters suggested: “Let’s do a book on dogs in Vogue.” For some reason nobody started laughing. Maybe because the person who suggested it was Anna Wintour or all the people present were low on energy because of their lettuce diet. Anyway, it became a serious project and editors, designers and authors started digging the Vogue archives and precisely documented the evolution of the dog in Vogue as a Dames’ accessory throughout the 20th Century. At some point someone even came up with the idea for a tag-line: “A Century of Canine Chic”. Hilarious, but again unintended, making this a book we love.
