This tiny little book called Artoons is all about artworks in cartoons. Where most cartoon readers saw stories of giant mice and ducks the people from KesselsKramer discovered hidden Picasso’s and Van Gogh’s. The subject itself makes this book already brilliant and its uniqueness is emphasised by the execution. With its 7 x 10 cm Artoons is by far the smallest book we have. This one, the limited edition (1,000 copies), is numbered and comes with a little wooden easel to present it on. That’s the admirable part of it. I mean, to think of an idea like this is one, but to actually execute it with so much dedication and craftsmanship is something else. Altogether Artoons is one of our least sold, but most beloved books. Artoons is also featured in KK’s A New Kilo.
