Alex Trochut

Now this is something really interesting. It could very well be that you don’t know the name Alex Trochut, but that you do know his work. Alex was born in 1981 in Barcelona. He works by the philosophy that more is more. And that’s what it is. Rich, ornamental, sticky, colourful, indefinable. Whatever it is, it is hot and therefore Alex is hired by mega brands and is featured in almost every graphic design book nowadays. To have his own book is what he had coming. The fun thing about the book is that it is more than just a portfolio. It is structured in four parts: Introduction, Influences, Projects and Process. That last part is interesting because it gives us an insight in Alex’s method. From a printing point of view, the book is interesting as well. Each section is printed on a different type of paper and the cover is printed with glow-in-the-dark ink, revealing an exciting pattern you won’t be able to see in broad daylight. Love it!
